In math we are learning all about fractions! Students are expected to find equivalent fractions and compare and order fractions by size. Students are able to bring home their math notebooks each night to help them with their homework.
In reading, we are getting to the end of our story, The Flunking of Joshua T. Bates. Students are really enjoying the story and are doing a great job of demonstrating their comprehension of the text! They are also reading a nonfiction story called, So You Want to Be President, in their Reading Street books. They are learning all about past Presidents and what it takes to do that job. In writing, students are working on personal narratives. We are working together to edit and revise, and they will be writing final drafts soon! In social studies, students are learning all about the states in the Southeast region. When we are getting close to the end of the unit, the test date will be in students' planners. They will need to know the states and capitals along with information about the natural resources, land and water, climate, and culture of the region. |
