Our Unit 1 math test will be tomorrow. For homework tonight, students have a self assessment to complete. The self assessment lists all of the skills that will be on tomorrow's test. They also have a review packet for optional practice at home tonight. The review packet is not a required homework assignment.

Students should be bringing home graded ELA assignments on a regular basis. Most assignments that students complete are graded and handed back within a week. Most of the math work that students do is kept in their math journals so you may not see corrected math work (except for homework) coming home until the unit test is given. If it has been a while since you have seen any of your child's corrected work, please check in their homework folder or contact me.
Tomorrow students will be bringing home the social studies test they took on Monday. The final section on the test about the Northeast and Southeast regions is used just as a preview for the next unit and was therefore not counted as part of their test grade. Since the start of the school year, students have been studying the states in the Northeast region. They have learned about landmarks, culture, and natural resources in these states. At the end of the unit, they will be tested on these things. They will also be expected to label a blank map of the Northeast region with each state's name and the name of its capital city. The link below has a game that students can use at home to practice the states and capitals by region.
